Colin is a Bangor based Freelance Musician, Movement Artist and Capoeira Teacher. He has been involved with community groups, projects and events since 1994 and professional performance since 2002. Colin has performed extensively and internationally as a percussionist, including performances at Brecon and Manchester Jazz Festivals, Carnivals in Europe and Brazil, Club Nights, Street Festivals, Theatres and Community Events. He has been teaching drum workshops in Wales and beyond since the year 2000.
He has recently returned from a study trip in Havana, Cuba. Colin holds the title of “Monitor” with “Associação de Capoeira Senzala Santos” and runs “Capoeira Mocambo” with regular classes in North Wales. www.capoeiramocambo.co.uk Colin also uses Capoeira skills as a base for work in Contemporary Dance, Site specific improvisation and Physical Theatre. Having been involved in Dance performance since 2000, Colin is currently developing and choreographing an all male Dance project in the area “Urban Dance Collage”. As well as running the international Capoeira Events for Capoeira Mocambo, Colin also manages some project for the North Wales Dance Collective (www.dancecollective.co.uk) including the 2012 projects “Moving Pathways” and “Casgliad”. He has been teaching and performing in fusions of various art forms for over fifteen years.
